Ray K. Metzker (born 1931) is one of the most important living american photographers. His main subject over the years is light and shadow, his black&white prints are of outstanding quality. Originally from Wisconsin, he lives and works in Philadelphia. He was a student of Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind at the Institute of Design in Chicago. He taught for many years at the Philadelphia College of Art and at the University of New Mexico. The last of his numerous exhibitions was held at the Getty Museum LA.
